Welcome
My name is Mike. I'm a 40 something year old guy living in the southwest of the UK. This all springs from heated debate over a beer (which happens a lot in my circles - same for you?). I was mourning the lack of available traditional style ales in the hostelries based locally to me. Flavours from so many of the new breed of brewers all seem to cater for so many weird and wonderful combinations for the "Craft / Artisan" market. Why couldn't I just get a decent ruby ale or porter any more?
My friends just called me an old fart and told me to get used to it. I decided I would do otherwise, and resolved to learn how to produce quality ales of the type I am looking for. Maybe I would even start up my own brewery, open my own bar, take over the world......
